Pan IIT Conference October 16–18, 2016
The Mehta Family Foundation (MFF) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras hosted the first Pan IIT Biotech Conference on 16–18, 2016. The conference, held in Kodaikanal, located in the Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu, India, brought together faculty and researchers from Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Science and Educational Research (IISERs), the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and researchers from various biotech companies to discuss innovations in the field of biotechnology. The event created ample opportunities for shared learning, discussion, and proposals for large-scale translational research projects. In recent years, biotechnology has expanded to include genomics, recombinant gene technology, applied immunology, renewable raw materials to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and other new and diverse application.
