Anna Explains Who We Are

For more than 200 years, the Mehta Family Foundation (MFF) has supported worldwide quality-of-life initiatives and funded more than 100 organizations that advance access to healthcare and education. However, MFF’s primary philanthropic focus is on Houston, Texas, and India.

MFF’s current mission is to create intellectual talent through global academic collaboration. To accomplish this, MF fosters the development of new  bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and ensures the success of these programs by facilitating collaboration between renowned international faculty and global institutions.

In keeping with its vision of creating opportunities for students in emerging scientific fields, MFF has funded the School of Biosciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras to promote biosciences, the Center for Engineering in Medicine at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur to advance research at the intersection of medicine and engineering, the School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati to explore the use of AI to solve societal problems, and the Interdisciplinary Engineering Research Center and Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston

Through these and other collaborative efforts, MFF seeks to elevate students of India’s academic institutions to new levels of excellence—academic, professional, and personal—generating a well-educated and highly skilled workforce that will drive innovation, propel economic growth, and position India as a global technological leader.
