Dr. Sriraam Natarajan is a Professor and Director of the Center for Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas, Dallas. He is a Fellow of AAAI, hessian.AI, and the Asia Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), and holds a WSAI Distinguished Visiting Chair at IIT Madras.
Dr. Natarajan has received numerous honors, including the President’s Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching, the Young Investigator Award from the U.S. Army Research Office, and multiple industry and best paper awards. He served as Program Co-Chair of AAAI 2024, SDM 2020, and ACM CoDS-COMAD 2020. He is an Associate Editor of the Machine Learning Journal (MLJ), Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR), and Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (DAMI), an elected member of the AAAI Executive Council, and Secretary-Treasurer Elect of IJCAI.
His research spans Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with particular focus on Statistical Relational Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Graphical Models, and Biomedical Applications. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and co-authored three books in the field.
